Sacrifices and Cozys

So Annabelle is good friends with Jonathan, neighbor friend from church. We all went to the park yesterday, and Jonathan was sharing with Anna what he learned in kindergarten that day (private school).
"Then we take the animals and place them on the fire, but only the animals without spots, and then we burn them, and Jesus can smell it."

Anna replies:

"And then I put my cozy's on, baby Helen's bottle and baby Helen's cozys, and I wear cozys and nigh nigh! Oh Pac! Baby Helen's pac."

Jonathan replies:

"Sometimes we take sheep, and we take goats..."

Oh my goodness, the "conversation" was hillarious!!! The two were talking, without connecting into each other's conversation at all!! So funny!!

Oh, and dont' worry - I tested Jonathan's theology - "what do you mean by 'we'?" Do we still kill animals? His first response was "yes, we take the animal and..."
Then I convinced him that we don't need to relate to God that way anymore... :)

Everyone is in trouble...

Annabelle is very concerned about how to obey these days, and who should be obeying. Now mind you, we've had to spank her all but maybe three times total in her life? But it is an obsession. check it out:

I found her outside holding up two cars in her hand toward the sky - she was looking at the moon. I heard her talking on and on, between one car and the other car, and the moon. Finally I hear her say. "NO moon! No! You need to OBEY me! I will spank your bonnom!" :)

Then I found her and Reagan playing together in the living room. I heard a little mewup of pain and walked in to find Annabelle holding her by the cheeks and looking at her in the face saying, "No Reagan! You will obey! Want me to spank your bonnom?"

Oh my.....

Today at Little Gym, my free-spirited child organized the Little Gym mats and "furniture" (round things and triangle mats, etc.) around for the hour while the other children happily followed the leader... oh Lord - i will need great help parenting this one! I do need it! Now!

warms my heart!!

Annabelle now loves to say to me, "Love you. Can have a kiss?" And she'll pucker up. NICE!
She also reminds me that Jesus lives in her heart :)

Miscommunication

Annabelle is talking so much these days, but it is just too funny most of the time...
When eating a peach: "Uh oh!" Annabelle is looking down at her peach pit. "Oh no Mommy! A buger! Put it to nigh night." (Everything has bugurs now that she's discovered her own nose bugers.

I was talking with a friend about Anna's potty training. We said, "Annabelle! Are you using the potty now? - Are you going to pee on the potty?" All excited Anna says, "Yeah! I'll go pee on a puppy!" Well, no wonder this has been so difficult. She is waiting for a PUPPY to pee on, not a potty!!! :)

Trouble: Taking a Spa

Today I heard the water running in the bathroom. I know that she likes to brush her teeth periodically so I just ignored it. Finally when i heard unusual sounds I got up and went into the bathroom. There is Annabelle, completely curled up on her knees inside the sink, with the plug plugged, and the water flowing ALL OVER the bathroom floor. "Annabelle! Get out of the sink - what are you doing!?!" Shrieking with shock... Annabelle answers me calmly and matter-of-fact, "I"m taking a spa! My hot-tub!" :)

Arthur and Grant were with us this weekend, and baby Helen. It was a fun cute-filled weekend. Annabelle wanted to be sure that baby Helen (all of 10 months younger than she is) did everything she did. It was "baby too?" all weekend long. This morning, Annabelle wanted to "play baby Helen." - "I'm baby Helen!" and she'd grab her pacifier and take it downstairs to "pretend" baby play. Nice try Anna. No Pac!

Grant called Uncle Rob, Aunt Rob all weekend long. Very cute indeed. Yogurt is too spicey. And when he got in trouble for running out of McDonalds, I was holidng him while he was crying (in shame I'm sure :) )... and I said, "Aunt Becca will keep you safe Grant, that's why you're in trouble." Grant said, "Aunt Becca, I'm afraid of Spiders!" "You are?" "Yes, keep me safe?" Ok Grant, I will keep you safe from spiders too, AND from running into the street... :)

All for now :)
Hope you all enjoyed.

SHARE!!!

These days I've been mainly busy with my two children - Reagan (feline) and Annabelle (human... most of the time)... Annabelle is learning how to share toys with the kitty, but at first it was steep battle. She would snatch toy mice away from the tiny cute kittens little paws, and say, "No! It's my mouse! Go away!"... I got Annabelle her own mouse, and now they each have "theirs." Of course, Reagan doesn't know the rules, but we are working on it. Time for a sibling maybe???

Today, the quote of the day is, "Anna! Get Jesus OUT of your MOUTH! He's too small!" Anna is carrying baby Jesus around in her mouth. Jesus in my heart? Jesus in my mouth? Same thing? He did say, Eat my flesh... maybe he didn't mean plastic replicas though...

What did you do today Annabelle?

Anna has no concept of "today" so her answer varies, today, this was her answer:

"I fed giraffe's, Penguins eat my nose, I went to cabin, I pooped in the tent, played with Max, went to Anika's, went on bike-ride, I go shopping, I was a naked baby, I went swimming, Daddy's a naked baby, mommy too (that is not true by the way), I got presents, this is blue."

WOW what a day!

A Good Shopper

Annabelle and I were at Quintessence, shopping for a birthday gift for a certain someone :)... She picked up a toy, walked over to the clerk and CLEAR as a bell, said, "Is this Free?" She has NEVER said that before - we all cracked up. Wow - seriously, where did she hear that??? Too bad, it wasn't free...

"right here"

Today she made it very clear to me that she had a full diaper, she says to Rob and I, pointing at her bottom, really loudly she says - "My poop is RIGHT HERE!!" :)

Mommy has 7 toes on each foot

Annabelle was counting my toes - and distinctly, somehow she counted SEVEN on each foot. She really loved that each time she got to seven, I said, "WHAT?" And she giggled... :)

We gave her a cup of water the other day and she started fussing so badly, and saying something, until I figured out she was saying, "No! Like a DOGGY!" She wanted to lap water out of the bowl like Skyla and Cinnamon. :) ...

"Skarbucks" "Jesus" and "Tomorrow" :)

So, I need to take a good hard look at what I'm training my child to be...
We pulled into Starbucks this morning (mind you, I'm paying with loose change and pennies, we are NOT wealthy enough to go there every day!)... however, we pulled into Starbucks, I pull Anna out of the car, and she says, "Oh look! We're Home!"

LOL!!!

She also learned that "Mommy" has a name. Now she says, "Hey Becca! Toast Peeze?"

Now she is in bed trying to nap, singing "Jesus loves me" to herself - a new "mixed" version though that includes something about "tomorrow, tomorrow, I love ya, tomorrow, you're only a day away, Jesus loves me, yes he does, for the bible tells me so, tomorrow, tomorrow...."

Lately...

Well, it's so hard to keep track of everything that Annabelle is doing these days, and this blog is primarly ANNA blog :)... my way of writing down her little "isms."
- she LOVES to be a "waked baby." She starts taking her clothes off squealing, "naked baby! naked baby!" (but really, it's "waked.").
- Daddy is teaching her how to say Levi Leipheimer (Tour de France!)
- Her favorite thing is running - hmmm... gets it from mommy? Maybe... maybe not - she ran her first mile a month ago ish...
- "mommy too" and "daddy too" is something she spits out about every other minute, really wants us to do what she is doing with her, it is very sweet. Also, if I make her brush her teeth, I have to brush mine. If I pour water over her head in the bath to get rid of shampoo, then "mommy too" has to pour water over her head - part of me can't help but appreciate the sense of, "if I have to do this, you have to too, and you have to do it first, to prove to me that I'm going to be ok!."
- "I want to go shopping!" is a new one :)
- "Mommy go away" is a new one too, and I'm trying to teach her to say instead, "I want some space please!."
That's about all the new ones for now - there's more, but I forget.... :) Time flies...

Went to the cabin this weekend, Annabelle loved the "slurpy" rocks - (slippery) and being an expwowwer! (explorer). It was a great hike to Franklin Falls with her, she did fantastic! Big hike for that little one...

"Daddy Fix"

Anna's new thing is to say "Daddy fix" or "Daddy will fix" to everything that is remotely broken or leaking or dropped, etc... It's very sweet. Well, yesterday, Anna took a fall and bonked her head pretty hard. Daddy was holding her, comforting her... She calmed down and was dinking around in our junk drawer and pulled out some battery's... she handed one to Daddy and said "Daddy fix."
"Fix what Anna?"
Anna grabbed another battery and pushed it into her head and said again, "Daddy fix!"
Apparently, she needed new batteries to take away the owie :)...

"No Thanks"

My daughter has perfected her manners... but not exactly when and how to use them.
Brushing teeth, she's screaming, shaking her head back and forth and saying "NO THANKS MOMMY! NO THANKS!"

"Annabelle, you will have a time out if you do that again."
"No Thanks Mommy."

:)

On another note -
Easter Morning- I get Annabelle all dolled up in her big poofy pink dress and bows, she looks at self in the mirror and says, "Annabelle SO cute!"

She is also saying these days, "Annabelle such a good girl!"

:)

This and That, again...

So, yesterday Annabelle and I were swinging outside on the porch when the rain started just pelting on down super hard... Anna sat up and said, "Uh Oh!... Oh... Sorry Outside!."

I heard Rob yesterday asking Anna, "Anna, can you say Apple?" Oh, so cute! I thought to myself, teaching her practice new words. Anna said, "Apple!" Then I heard my husband say, "That's right! Now say, Apple TV." "Apple TV!" Anna said.... Oh gracious.....

Still...Sick...

So, how is the world out there, I wonder? Do we still have the same president? What does the sky look like? Do cars now fly?....

Sick Day

Three Winnie the Pooh Movies
Lion King a thousand times over (only the part that plays the "Can you feel the love tonight" song).
Jungle book twice.

That was my day... Anna didn't let me put her down - finally when she fell asleep - I slipped away and took a picture...

Vancouver

Vancouver was awesome! Had so much fun with Rachel. We were like little girls in our bunks - staying up late and whispering and talking. We didn't get to sleep until 1am! WHAT were we thinking? Well, at least we didn't have three kids to wrangle the next morning...
We took them to the zoo - had a blast. On the way home, I asked the boys what their favorite animal at the zoo was, and Grant says, "THE SANDBOX!" Of course... Why do we pay money for things at this age???
TONS of pictures - I'll pick these two - Rachel's possible new home, and Rachel and I out to lunch. Figuratively as well... :)

This and That.

So Anna likes to take Max around the house with her. (The picture frame - see last blog). Rob and I were in bed last night and we kept kicking something.

"What is that?"
"I don't know - something glass." Rob bends down to grab it.
"It's Max!"
"Max is made of glass??" - Apparently Annabelle put Max under the covers in our bed. :) Nice surprise!!

Anna is sick today - poor thing. Which made for a "nice" day for Mommy - sad she was sick - but we watched TV all day. Amazing. :)

Rob's latest quote: "Put that in your paradigm engine and shift it!"

I LOVED that one.

The things my daughter knows already...

Annabelle just grabbed my glass of wine and said, "here, Mommy-juice."

Anna has a picture of her sweetest friend by her bed - Max - she calls him Mac - and when the picture falls over we hear her say, "UH Oh Mac! Mommy! Fic (Fix) Mac!"

Today I went to her room to see what she was up too - she was playing with her toys. I opened the door and said Hi - she immideatly came to the door and starting pushing me out, shutting the door and saying, "bye bye mommy! Alone." She wanted to be alone... oh my.... is she 16 already?

My daughter sings in French

So we've been listening to this song in the car that Annabelle has always called the "nigh nigh" song. It's beautiful, slow and soft. She sings half of it in french. We've had it on repeat for every car ride! Well, out of the blue, one day I was driving and I stopped to listen, and voila - Anna was singing along in french - this is what she sings: Je t'aime, Je t'aime toujours. I am forever yours. Sweet dreams, sweet dreams Mon Chere, you are always in my prayers. Softly, slowly, wrapped up in heavens arms, soaring, sailing, gathering star dust." She can sing ALL of those words!!! Unreal! She was soaking it all in this whole time, and then decided to break out in song.

Wuv You!

After Anna's shower the other day, we were looking in the mirror. She was all bundled up in her towel and she waves at the mirror and says, "Hi Baby! Wuv You!."

It is snowing here - a ton - what in the worl?? :)
Annabelle keeps asking "Where is the snow man?" Doesn't get that we have to MAKE the snow man.

My friend Dana and I sat in the hot-tub last night with some Mikes Hard, and cowboy hats, with snow all around us and the moon was out. We said, "It's really hard to complain about life when you have a cowboy hat, a Mike's and a hot-tub."

She talks in her sleep

So, my dear sweet daughter has more of her father in her than we had thought. Last night, Rob and I were just dosing off to sleep when we heard her cute little voice scream out, "Oh NEMO!" And then some other nonsense words and again, NEMO blah blah blah NEMO!" and then nothing. That was it. Wonder if she was dreaming about the horror of eating her birthday cake, Nemo.

Other things: Yesterday she and I were at Costco and she saw a couple little girls and said really loud, "Look! FRIENDS!"

New Blog Day

So, my lovely FieldEffect blog has been deleted somehow! I still have my "Ponder This" on live journal blog - but I'm leaving that alone for all of my profound theological, ontological, eschatological, christological thoughts :) ... ( I apologtize for the linguistical scars seared into my vocabulary from 8 years of working on my biblical studies masters!)

This is going to be a basic blog regarding the daily ins and outs of life with Anna and Rob. She is at the age where she now says the strangest, cutest things, and I figured Grandma's and Grandpa's out there would like to check in now and then and read about her growth.

Today, we are watching Elmo's potty video. Aren't you glad you checked in? :)

Annabelle is into froggies these days, and taking "trips." She'll pack her purse up with all her animals and say "BYE MOMMY!" "Bye honey, where is Annabelle going?" "Annabelle going on a trip!." She smiles and waves and walks away.

Her new favorite phrase is: "Fix it Mommy" and "What's happening? or What happened?"

That is it for now - more to come when humorous stories come my way.
